How HeyNews works

The editorial intelligence platform for newsletter creators.

The problem
40+

hours per month.

Every issue. Every week. Adding up.

Where the time goes every week
  • 2–4 hrsSource monitoring and story research
  • 2–3 hrsWriting and rewriting the draft
  • 1–2 hrsEditing to match your voice
  • 30–60 minFormatting and scheduling

At 4 issues/month: 40+ hours of production per creator, per month.

The hidden cost

The hours are the easy part to count.

The harder cost is the Sunday dread. The 20 open tabs. The blank page at 11pm. The issue that goes out exhausted, because you didn't have the energy for one more rewrite.

Burnout doesn't show up in an analytics dashboard. It shows up when you consider skipping an issue. Then when you consider stopping altogether.

The production grind is the most common reason newsletter creators quit.

The false solution

Generic AI doesn't fix the workflow. It relocates it.

What it promises
  • Generate drafts instantly
  • Save time on content
  • Write faster with AI
What actually happens
  • No voice memory. Every session starts from zero.
  • No source tracking. You still find every story manually.
  • No format learning. You reformat every draft yourself.
  • No relevancy filter. Noise and signal land in the same pile.
  • Heavy editing needed. The "saved" time isn't actually saved.

The workflow isn't simpler. It's differently broken.

Editorial intelligence.
Your voice, your sources, your format.
5 minutes.

That's a different category of tool.

How it works

Three steps. One workflow. Every issue.

01

Connect your archive

HeyNews ingests your past newsletters via beehiiv, Kit, or archive URL. The more you've published, the sharper the voice profile becomes.

02

Monitor your sources

HeyNews looks at the links in your past issues and follows sites you link to often when they have a feed. Add any other feed, site, subreddit, YouTube channel, or social profile in one paste. Relevant stories surface. Noise gets scored out.

03

Generate your draft

One click. A full issue in your voice, your format, sourced from stories matching your editorial patterns. If your issues carry a section with no story, like an editor's note, HeyNews writes that in your voice too. Ready to polish and publish.

Then put it on a schedule

Pick your issue days and a cadence from every week to every four weeks. HeyNews picks stories published since your last draft, or from the last 7 days if you have no draft yet. You can choose another window. It writes each draft on the issue day or up to 6 days before it.

See how newsletter automation works

HeyNews never sends. Every draft waits in Issues for your review.

"It sounds like you.
Because it learned from you."

  • Nearly 600 newsletter issues created. 10+ distinct formats.
  • Trained on each creator's own archive, not a generic model.
  • Voice profile persists across every session. No memory loss.
  • Final editorial judgment stays with the creator, always.

Source intelligence

Your newsroom, built automatically.

From your past issues

HeyNews reads the links in your past issues and adds sites you link to repeatedly as Sources when they publish a feed. To follow a social profile, add it yourself.

Monitoring

Your full source library is monitored continuously. Incoming stories are ranked by editorial fit. Nothing slips because you were busy. No more manual tab-checking.

Curated feeds and relevance

When curated feeds are available, start from feeds the HeyNews team has already vetted. Every new Story gets a relevance score, so the ones that fit your newsletter rise to the top.
